Mr. Monkey's Banana Ride is a small Swinging Ship themed as a banana. It's smaller than most ships found in other Parks, but offers a fun and relatively thrilling experience for the young.
Riders seat themselves in the boat, and it swings from side to side, gradually getting higher and higher with each swing. The themeing is good, with Mr. Monkey sitting on top of the logs holding up the banana boat. The ride area plays cheerful music, and quite often you will find a ride operator with a few jokes up their sleeve running the ride, which gives the experience that extra touch of sparkle.
Mr. Monkey's Banana Ride is a good ride for its target market. It's definitely one for the parents to go on with younger children. If you're a thrill seeker at Thorpe, it shouldn't be a priority; ride if it you're in the area and the queue is walk-on. Having said that, Mr Monkey's has been known to make even the most adventurous thrill seeker feel a little nauseous...
